Officer Descriptions

The President shall be the official spokesperson for the Drake Actuarial Student Society. The President shall preside over all Executive Council and DASS general meetings

The Internal Vice-President shall assume the duties of the President in the absence of the President or should the office become vacant. The Internal Vice-President shall be responsible for organizational operations not directly related to outside contacts, including the recruitment of freshmen, the publicity of general meetings and special events, and internal communication. The Internal Vice-President shall be in charge of fund-raising from internal sources.

The External Vice-President shall be responsible for all organizational operations that involve outside contacts, including the coordination of Meet the Firms Night, special event speakers, and off-campus field trips. The External Vice-President shall be in charge of fundraising from external sources.

The Secretary shall be responsible for recording the minutes of all general meetings and the Executive Council meetings.

The Treasurer shall maintain a current record of all financial transactions of DASS. The Treasurer shall be in charge of collecting dues from members. The Treasurer shall be in charge of all cash outflows.

The Freshman Representative shall be responsible for being a direct liaison between the freshmen members of DASS and the Executive Council.

The Social Chair shall be responsible for coordinating all social activities sponsored by DASS.

The Webmaster shall be responsible for maintaining and updating the DASS website.

The Advisor of the Drake Actuarial Student Society shall be aware of all activities within the organization and shall provide advice upon request. In addition, the advisor shall share knowledge, expertise, and experience with the organization.  The Advisor is an automatic non-voting member of the organization, but is invited to attend all DASS meetings and activities.
