October 22, 2007 – 2007 Innovation and Leadership Conference Award Goes to
Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (NY)
The 2007
Innovation and Leadership Conference will honor the work of Senator Hillary
Rodham Clinton (NY) during the evening all-conference dinner to be held on
Friday, November 16th, 2007 at the Drake University Olmsted Center.
Joining in the recognition event will be Governor Tom Vilsack (last year’s
honoree) and former Director of the Iowa Department of Public Health Mary Mincer
Hansen.
Each
year the conference provides focus on a particular subject of interest to the
future of Iowa. This year’s event will focus on Healthcare and Iowa’s Future.
Leaders from the public, private, and nonprofit communities will gather to
provide interactive panel sessions that bring focus on this important issue.
Panel members include two former Governors, several former and current agency
directors, and healthcare sector executives/directors. For more conference news

October 18, 2007 – PFG Business Leadership Certificate Program Graduation
The
second cohort of the Principal Financial Group’s Business Leadership Certificate
celebrated the successful completion of their program of study at the Drake
University Campus. Graduates made presentations to the senior leadership team
of PFG which included Chairman and CEO Barry Griswell. This certificate program
was developed through a collaborative effort between Principal Financial Group
and the business faculty at Drake University. The depth of the program is such
that graduates seeking to further their graduate-level study may utilize the
certificate as part of their next Drake educational pursuit. For more

September 13, 2007 – Business Leadership Certificate Program—Hubbell Realty
A Business
Leadership Certificate Program has been created through a partnership between
Hubbell Realty and the Drake University Center for Professional Studies, College
of Business and Public Administration. This program provides a unique
opportunity for participants to apply and integrate the most
current business and leadership principles with the mission of Hubbell Realty
Company. Classes will be held 2-3 times each month at the Drake University
campus through May of 2008.

3, 2007 - Certified Public Manager Program Cohort 8 Kick-off!
The eighth cohort of the Certified Public Manager Program begins July 10. The
CPM programs now begin every six months, with CPM 9
scheduled to begin in January of 2008! This nationally accredited program that
results in the Certified Public Management designation was developed through a
partnership of Drake University College of Business and Public Administration,
the Center for Professional Studies, and the Human Resources Enterprise of the
Department of Administrative Services, State of Iowa. Public sector
professionals are encouraged to join this nationally award winning program. For

11, 2007 - Marketing Certificate Program
The Marketing
Certificate Program has been created through a partnership between Meredith
Corporation and the Drake University Center for Professional Studies, College of
Business and Public Administration. This program provides a unique opportunity
for participants to apply and integrate the most current marketing
principles with the mission of Meredith Corporation. The participants are
provided a customized study of critical marketing competencies that will empower
one with the ability to better utilize marketing theories and practices.
