Human Resources

Drake offers a CONCENTRATION IN HUMAN RESOURCES which focuses on issues surrounding the management of people in organizations. It is available to undergraduate students of any major who have an interest in human resource management and want to prepare for a career in human resources or related fields. The concentration is designed to provide students with the core competencies to be competitive in today's job market.

Drake's HR concentration is an interdisciplinary program provided by the College of Business and Public Administration, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the School of Education.

DEGREE OPTIONS
An area of concentration available at the undergraduate level to supplement any major offered at Drake.

ACADEMIC PREPARATION
High school students are encouraged to take courses that help them develop written and oral communication skills, and information technology skills.

REQUIRED CREDIT HOURS AND COURSES OUTSIDE CONCENTRATION
The Drake Curriculum, required of all undergraduates, is designed to help students meet personal and professional goals as they acquire fundamental knowledge and abilities in the areas of communication, critical thinking, artistic experience, historical consciousness, information and technology literacy, international and multicultural experiences, scientific and quantitative literacy, and values and ethics. Students work closely with their academic advisers to create, implement and revise, as needed, an individual Drake Curriculum plan.
